It’s quite hard to attend a Velocity conference and not come away inspired. For me, Velocity Europe last week was no exception. However, this year the general atmosphere of enthusiasm that characterises these events was tempered by a certain realism. There was a recognition that we still have a long way to go and that there are still some performance problems to which there are no satisfactory solutions.
Of course, that’s part of what makes the world of web performance exciting and why I love Velocity. We weren’t just going over the same old ground, repackaging the same old messages. While some of those messages remain as valid as ever, a lot is changing.
We’re always on the look-out for highly talented individuals to work with us, but at the moment we’re specifically looking for the following roles.
Senior Web Application Developer and Web Application Developer
We’re looking for a Systems Administrator with experience of managing Windows servers to join our Operations team. The role is focused on the build, commissioning, maintenance and tuning of both servers and services in a customer-facing production environment.
QA Test Analyst
A QA Engineer / Test Analyst with experience of functional and UAT scenario design and completion for websites or analytics portals. The candidate should have experience with automated testing (ideally Selenium), database use (ideally MySQL) with SQL skills, AWS, working knowledge of at least one language (C#, Java etc.) and experience of ticketing and workflow systems (ideally Jira).
Content Co-Ordination Consultant
An experienced content coordinator to join our Professional Services team to produce industry leading content including blogs, research pieces and case studies for consumption by customers, prospects and the performance testing community at large.
If you can help us, or you know someone that can, maybe you can be part of the team! Get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org – we’d love to speak to you.
